I have samsung s3511 with win7 and decent hardware. Inc 650 gig hard drive. Maybe it's only works with old winXP?Thanks in advance. Luk I think you are right, it also has to be win XP Pro. Win 7 compatibility came sometime early in 2011 i think. Cheers SonyVaio I will have a look on that one.and bit of spec.

It's an i3 cpu with 6gb ram and 64bit system Good enough spec there so that's not your problem. I`ve just been trying this as well. I knew you needed to have xp pro so got windows 7 pro and tried to have a virtual section using it but my computer doesnt support something called huv i think? So back to the origional plan and get a decrepit old one with xp pro installed as the origional operating system. The PC requirements are 2GB RAM, WinXP Pro, SP3 and IE8. With those software components, it installs and works.

Some people have got it to work with Win7 Pro but if you have XP you may as well install it. You'll need SATA support as XP doesn't have native SATA drivers. Those with Win 7 that wish to keep Win7. There are various flavours of Virtual machine available to run Win XP on your current systems, you can install Virtual PC, Vitual Box, VM Ware and for certain versions of Win7 there is also an 'XP Mode'.

It sounds a little technical but is really pretty easy to get a virtual machine up and running, you do however need a copy of WinXP as you install it into your current computer running a virtual window (machine). To run virtual machines comfortably then your computer needs to be fairy new so you can allocate enough resources for it to handle vida once you've installed XP. Although there is a file that can be edited to tell VIDA not to check for 2GB of free RAM.:star-wars-smiley-01. I'm running it on Windows 7Pro on a 32 bit machine (will not run on 64bit) with 4 gig RAM (only uses 3 gig Ram), plenty of HDD and Internet Exploror 8, (it will not run on iE9) I don't think you need virtual machines, it doesn't like 64 bit systems. My version is 2011A and would love 2011D or 2012A. HTH I run my VIDA on a Dell laptop with Win7 Enterprise (32bit) 2GB RAM (minus what the graphics card steals) 128GB HDD and IE9.

My VIDA version is 2011a. It all works perfectly fine, the only thing I had to do was edit a file so it didn't do the 2GB RAM check due to the graphics card stealing some of the system memory thus leaving me with less than 2GB - result was VIDA would not install, edit done and installed fine.:star-wars-smiley-01.
