We are looking for a PDF Viewer control for WPF or WinForms application. We have hit some road blocks with our current implementation which basically uses WindowsFormsHost to embed the Adobe Reader activeX control inside a WPF UserControl.

Using the above implementation we cannot do the following: • Consistently show rotate buttons • Save the file (We can save a copy, but not re-save) so we can keep the rotation that the user just performed. I've scoured the internet for a.net control that has no external dependencies and found and I've played with it and it seems to meet our needs. My question is are there some other alternatives?

If there are some LGPL-like licensed open source, we could consider it, but most likely we want to go with a 3rd party component preferably with a royalty-free distribution. But I'm just looking for some options that I haven't found yet.

PDF-XChange Viewer provides a host of useful features to go along with superior functionality in letting you view and mark up PDFs with ease. The software will open PDFs saved on your computer or you can download them directly with the app. Navigating the PDF once its open is straightforward, as well, and there are many navigation and editing tools available on the toolbar across the top of the window. The interface of this app provides a lot of versatility without over-complicating the layout.

Just about every tool you need for marking up and viewing your PDF is displayed at the top of the screen. We were impressed that you can customize this layout to minimize clutter by selecting the tools you do and don't want displayed from the Tools' drop-down menu. Options include comment and mark up tools, link tools, measuring tools, and zoom tools. Navigating the document, itself, is quick and convenient, with multiple options for how pages are displayed and how many are on the screen at a time.

Commenting is supported and easy to insert and you can e-mail a document directly from the app as long as you have a compatible mail program installed, as well. Another convenient feature is the search box at the top of the screen that provides quick access to various online sources such as Wikipedia, Bing, Google, Yahoo, and others. Overall, this is a great product with an intuitive interface and lots of helpful features. Reply by howardferns on January 19, 2014 Sorry, but what you say is untrue. You DO get features you want in the free version, and you CAN edit or do anything more than read a PDF document. Some features are available in evaluation mode in the free version. If you use them, all it means is you get a little symbol in the top corners of your document.

Brief Neuropsychological Cognitive Examination Pdf Converter there. Can you not live with that? As for editing, there is amongst other things a typewriter tool useful for filling in forms. And what about the snapshot tool for copying part or whole pages? That is free, too.
